This is an introduction to the scientific principles behind musical instruments; musical pitch, scales, and tone color; room and concert hall acoustics; sound reproduction; and hearing. The course will also consider concepts as elusive af  'form' and 'beauty' in music and their relationships with the mathematical sciences. Field trips and hands-on activities, in addition to lectures and demonstrations, are also included in this course.
