Abstract

TiD1.94 crystallizes in a fcc lattice and at atmospheric pressure undergoes a transformation to a tetragonal phase at 17.5+/-0.5-degrees-C. Similarly it undergoes cubic-tetragonal phase transformation with a very small increase in pressure. The lattice parameters of TiD1.94 have been measured both as a function of the temperature and pressure. In the tetragonal phase, the a lattice parameter increases while the c parameter decreases with decreasing temperature.
